Pay As You Go Print
FAQs
Below are a few of the most commonly asked pay as you go print questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please drop us a line at info@payasyougoprint.co.uk and one of our team will be in touch.
General
We currently supply and service printers in UK Mainland.
Service frequency depends on your print volumes. Generally, printers with higher print volumes will be serviced more frequently.
Yes, we would encourage you to protect the environment by switching off the printer for when not in use for extended periods like weekends and shutdowns. However, this does mean that the print alert software will not be able to connect with your printer to monitor performance and consumables, so don’t forget to switch it back on on Monday!
Our printer software can be installed on a server or on an individual computer. Installing on a server is preferable as this means it will always be active, accessible and reporting. If you choose to install the software on a personal computer and that person goes away or is off sick, they will need to make sure their PC is on so the software keeps reporting. In the event that our software is unable to connect with your machine for a long period, we’ll get an alert and get in touch to resolve the situation.
Printers and hardware
A refurbished printer is a device that has been previously used rather than bought new off the shelf.
An experienced technician takes each machine through a thorough refurbishing process. This includes comprehensive testing to ensure it will be as good as new in both appearance, functionality and print quality.
Refurbished products are a cost-effective and practical choice. Unlike a new device, the materials, plastics and carbon used in its manufacture and delivery have already been created. By choosing refurbished you are preventing both equipment and parts from ending up in landfill.
We supply 10 different models of HP refurbished printer. The model you receive is tailored to your print requirements. The best way to find your perfect match is to start your print journey.

Toner cartridges
Yes, everything you need to run the printer is included in the agreement, excluding any paper or staples.
Premium, re-manufactured toner cartridges offer high quality consistent performance and significant cost savings compared to the manufacturer’s original product.
Our supplier, ESR, works to recognised international quality and environmental standards, delivering a product which not only saves money but has been produced with sustainability at its core. All cartridges come with a lifetime no quibble guarantee.
Our toner recycling boxes are not made from recycled materials but from double kraft cardboard that provides a strong enough recycling box to hold the empty cartridges and provide a waterproof container required for transport.
We have removed the inner plastic bag to further reduce environmental impact.
An average user will get 12,000+ prints per toner cartridge.
No. We’ll send you a replacement toner automatically when yours starts to run low. This doesn’t mean it’s empty. To get the best value from your cartridge you should wait until it completely runs out and the printer stops printing.
If you have a large campaign due, for example, a large mailer, or you intend to scale back your printing, just let us know and we can adjust your toner thresholds to suit. This avoids you having to store surplus toner supplies and optimises your printing.
