RMS International designs, manufactures and sells toys, games and art supplies through global wholesale channels. In 2016, the business expanded into new premises in Manchester, merging two smaller offices into one four storey building. During renovations of their new office space, their IT Director came across Pay As You Go Print and asked us to provide a quote to supply refurbished printers that would be able to cope with their high print volumes and the needs of the new office spaces.

What we provided

We met the client at their new premises to assess requirements and review possible printer locations. We discussed the benefits and specifications of different printer models to ensure our proposal met their needs.

We recommended installing six multi-functional full colour printers to serve each of the shared office spaces. The large machines had more than enough capacity to manage their high print volumes and come with scanning and copying functions built in.

After installation, we began to monitor the client’s usage and noticed high levels of mono printing from some colour machines. We raised this with the client and agreed to supply two additional black and white machines to sit alongside the colour printers. The cost per print was lower and has reduced colour toner consumption.

We keep in close contact with the client to monitor their requirements, replacing all their printers, as per our agreement, after four years. It’s a growing business and we are happy to flex our service to meet their needs.

I think colleagues have become more aware of what they print, which means we use less toner than before and we’re reducing our impact on the environment.

When they upgraded all our machines there was very little upheaval. The technician arrived and got on with their job, liaising with our IT department to resolve any network issues.
