The Sides Medical Centre is a busy surgery with 30 staff based in Swinton, Manchester. The Business Manager approached us to source some multi-functional printers that would cope with the high volumes of print produced by the practice. They also asked us to replace some old desktop scanners with more efficient technology.

What we provided

We recommended two multi-functional printers – one colour, one black and white – with built-in scanning and copying facilities. The machines would cope easily with the print volumes of the practice staff and provide all the functionality requested. Consumables, service and maintenance were all included in the agreement.

The business manager put us in touch with the NHS IT department and we worked closely with them on the installation and set up of the printers and scanning functionality.

Once both machines were up and running, we began monitoring the client’s print volumes and noticed that practice staff very rarely printed documents in colour. After raising this with the business manager we decided to replace the colour printer with a second black and white machine that worked out as being even more cost effective for the practice.
