Lacey Plumbing & Heating provides residential and commercial heating and plumbing services across Bolton, Bury and North Manchester. In 2018, one of the team met Anthony O’Mahony from Pay As You Go Print at a business event and, as the saying goes, the rest is history! At the time, the Lacey office relied on an off-the-shelf desktop printer for short print runs and a local print centre for bulk copying and printing. They were open to discussing a more cost effective printing solution.

What we provided

Following our introduction, we arranged a conversation with Lacey’s project manager to understand their print requirements. Their current in-house print runs included quotes, job sheets and paper invoices. Keeping their printer stocked with consumables was proving expensive. They were also outsourcing larger print runs and stationery production at substantial additional cost.

We submitted a proposal to supply, install and maintain a single free-standing multi-functional colour printer that would meet all the team’s needs. Scanning functionality allows the team to prepare more digital documents and use less paper. The copy function means they rarely need to outsource, and the large print capacity, staple and collate features allow the team to print lengthy health and safety documentation. One machine can handle a range of tasks efficiently.

Our commitment to using reconditioned printers also aligned positively with Lacey’s own environmental objectives.

Our print requirements were too demanding for our shop-bought printer but not high enough to justify a monthly contract. It used to cost us a fortune to buy printer cartridges for the old desktop printer. We now pay half what we used to spend on cartridges on all our monthly printing. The print quality from our new machine is so good we can print professional branded letterheads on high quality paper stock ourselves, saving on this too.

It’s now so easy to prepare documents and the additional printer features are a real bonus. Being able to copy, scan and email documents has streamlined administrative processes we hadn’t previously considered. Using Pay As You Go Print has without doubt improved the way we operate.
